Hello everybody!! Welcome back to our blog where we do one of the easiest things ever… Talk about our INSANELY AWESOME CLIENTS! Whaaaaat?? We have so much fun writing these blogs and we are so excited to be coming back to you today with another one of our recent, absolute rockstar couples we had the privilege of working with… for an Indiana Greenhouse Engagement session nonetheless less! It doesn’t get much better than Jaclyn and Katie, y’all!!
Meet the couple!
Katie and Jaclyn have been together a whopping… drumroll pleaseeee… NINE YEARS! WHAT?! That is an accomplishment and man, you can even tell! They are just as in love and adorable as we imagine they were nine years ago when their story began.
They met at Purdue! BOILER UP! Jaclyn’s graduate school mentor asked if Katie could “tag along” with them to a research conference in Chicago… Katie at the time was apparently interested in research and considering graduate school and of course wanted to go! Jaclyn says she “begrudgingly agreed,” HAHA! They rode the train together from Indy to Chicago, and the ride there was SO EARLY that Jaclyn says she slept the entire time. Now THAT is a mood! LOL! Katie even had a blanket for Jaclyn to borrow so she could be comfy on the train… Fate if you ask us!
Once the group made it to Chicago, Katie continued to “conveniently have anything and everything I needed or had forgotten at home.” They started talking, and the next thing you know… they barely left each other’s side for the entire conference!! HA! The universe is so funny. Katie and Jaclyn talked every second of the entire 4 hour train ride home back to Indy. “I’m not sure there was a day after that for the last 9 years we haven’t kept that conversation going in some way” Jaclyn writes us.
Oh. My. Goodness. Our hearts cannot take it over here!!!! This was the sweetest “how we met” story ever. We can vouch for Jaclyn’s parting line… These two have definitely kept that convo going and are just as adorable now as we imagine they were on that train ride 😉
What they love the most…
We asked them what they love the most about each other at their Indiana greenhouse engagement session… they had some pretty epic and sweet answers for us.
Katie tell us that… “I love Jaclyn’s heart. She is so loving and generous to the people in her life. I learn from her everyday.”
AWWWW! Come on now! We can also agree; Jaclyn is such a sweet and caring human! We enjoyed the little time we spent with her and you can tell how genuine she is the first time you met her! 🙂
Jaclyn wrote to us that, “Katie is somehow both the strongest and kindest human I have ever known- simultaneously the safest space in the world and a force of nature. She could easily take on the entire world by herself with one hand tied behind her back- but still she chooses to be “us” over and over again each day. Truly, she makes everyone and everything she touches better.”
WE. COULD NOT. LOVE THIS. MORE. Choosing “us” is so freaking important. SO important. From meeting Katie for just the first time, we can also vouch for her being so freaking kind! We could not love this couple any more.
The Proposal
Katie’s Perspective
Katie’s perspective of Jaclyn proposing is so cute and sweet and will give you ALL of the feels. She tells us that she had a work conference in Vegas and it happened to be THE conference of the year. All of her colleagues attended and it was a massive event. “One night I was expecting to meet a work mentor to expand my network, and Jaclyn is there and has the whole room decorated with flower petals and candles and a ring!” Could you imagine the surprise on her face?? OMG!
“After she proposed, she took me to restaurant for a celebratory dinner and surprised me again by flying in all of our closest friends to celebrate with us. It was the best work conference I’ll ever attend.” Hahaha! We bet that this work conference has a very special place in this couple’s hearts.
Jaclyn’s Perspective
Jaclyn ALSO has a proposal story and we love it just as much 🙂 “Katie completely shocked me by proposing to me while we were on vacation in New York.” Well what else are you supposed to be doing… in NEW YORKKKK! Lol, we you sang that in your head like we did. They were traveling with one of their best friends and were out exploring! So fun!! They had the whole day planned until Katie “suddenly wanted to go back” to the hotel on her own because she didn’t “feel well.”
Jaclyn says she really didn’t want her take an Uber alone and she was overall being a pain and stubbornly wanting to just continue on with their plans. HAHA! Funnier in hindsight, I guess! “Little did I know she just wanted to get back to the hotel first to set up our hotel room and when I got back she was down on one knee!” 🙂 “I didn’t even know she had a ring! HECK YEAH FOR AN EPIC SURPRISE!
Their Indiana Greenhouse Engagement Session session!
Yup. You probably guessed it. With these two, we had a MARVELOUS time!
At this Indiana Greenhouse engagement session, we listened to Taylor Swift to get into the mood. mean come on?? How else are supposed to take pictures of this real life Love Story?! (Taylor’s Version of course).
The plants and flowers made such an excellent background. Bennet’s Greenhouse in Lafayette was more than happy to let us take over before regular hours and create some MAGIC! One of my personal favorite places to shoot as a photographer… and of course by loads of plants! Thanks Bennet’s! 😉
There was lots of dancing, SO MUCH LAUGHING, a generous amount of cuddling and lots of pictures taken during Katie and Jaclyn’s Indiana Greenhouse engagement session. No complaints from us!
