One year of marriage, and forever to go! The Indianapolis Pride Parade and festival just so happened to line up perfectly with Caitlin & B’s ONE year anniversary! So of course, this celebratory date had to be documented! Read on to find out all about the Indianapolis Pride Parade and to find out what Pride means to Caitlin & B!
All about the Indianapolis Pride Parade
What used to be called the Circle City IN Pride (because of the circle monument downtown!), the Indianapolis Pride Parade is the annual week of LGBT pride events in Indianap-nap-napolis! Some days it can seem like there isn’t much to do in Indiana… well, when June comes along, put this on your calendar! The week is organized by LGBT organization Indy Pride, Inc. and has actually been held under this name AND this organization for over a decade! WOW! For all things LGBTQ+, pride celebrations, and good vibes galore – you don’t wanna miss this event!
How do we find the Indianapolis Pride Parade?
A trip to Indiana’s capital is in your future if you’re attending this event, which is good news for y’all directionally challenged folks (us LOL!). The drive to Indy is an easy one; you’re just going to head to the center of the state. Google maps have got you, here! For most, it’ll be an easy hop on and off I65 to downtown! Wooohooo! And this gets even better y’all, stay listening. The Indianapolis Pride Parade is partnering with the Hyatt Place – the official Indy Pride Festival Hotel! – located at 130 S Pennsylvania Street.
Take advantage of a discounted rate of $129/night. And ingest better one more, Indy Pride is partnering with Gate Ten Events and Parking to offer convenient and accessible parking for our Parade and Festival attendees! Purchase a parking pass to park in the Gate Ten Events and Parking lot on Saturday, June 11th and be shuttled to the Parade, from the Parade to the Festival, and from the Festival back to your vehicle at the lot. Wheelchair-accessible shuttles will be available.
Tips for Enjoying the Indianapolis Pride Parade
Go with friends or your lover! Nothing is better than pride with a bunch of your favorite people around ya! And a good rule of thumb is to never go to big outings like this alone anyways! 😉
Pick the right parade for you! Say whaaaaat? YES! There may be more than one or two or even three pride parades around you. Pick one that matches your vibe the most, not everyone loves the business of a big city.
Book ahead of time! Don’t wait til the last minute to book parking passes or hotel rooms or anything like that! Pride is always a big crowd!
Stand your ground, remind yourself what you’re celebrating, and block out haters! There will likely be protestors wherever you go for pride, again, remind yourself why you’re there. Don’t let them get the best of you. Keep your heads high!

Why do we celebrate Pride?
What is your WHY? You know what we mean… WHY are you here? Or WHY are you researching pride festivals? Maybe… WHY are you curious about the parade. If you’re here with the best of intentions, it’s because you want to be loud + proud about who you are and who you love. AS YOU SHOULD BE! The Indianapolis Pride Parade is all about celebrating everything we have overcome, everything we have accomplished, and everything we get to enjoy because of those who have fought for our rights to love who we love. Pride is all about embracing your truest YOU, and throwing a damn party because of it. As. You. Should.
What does Pride mean to Caitlin & B?
Pride to us is a time to celebrate the work that has led us here and the future of intersectional equality we continue to fight for. It’s a sense of family – where we can celebrate the community that we have built. Pride is embracing and being embraced by our community- a community that is beautiful, eccentric, resilient, and fierce. Pride is love.
All about Caitlin & B
Well, well, well. These two are no newbies here on our blog, but we are overjoyed to be sharing them again and maybe even refresh YOUR memory of this beautiful couple. When Bryggs and Caitlin first worked with us for their proposal, they had been together for around a year and a half. They first connected over the lovely app, Instagram. “Caitlin was featured on a page we both followed and I slide into her DMs commenting on her tattoo,” says Bryggs. They have been talking every since!!!! They are currently living the city life together in Indianapolis! Their favorite things to do together aren’t crazy… they say they enjoy the simple moments together at home with their animals!
THEN, things got a little wild. They headed out to the wild Wild West for a Bonneville Salt Flats photoshoot, then their elopement to follow. Originally Caitlin + B fell in love with the landscape of Colorado, but with the pandemic putting a cap on the amount of people in AirBnbs we started to look elsewhere. While scrolling we were amazed at all Utah had to offer. After a little searching we found Thistle & Pine, a private retreat located on 153 acres!
They found even more perks to eloping.
Imagine finding a spot on this property that no other couple has eloped at! Thistle & Pine offered the perfect elopement spot. As Caitlin + B tried to figure out where to have their ceremony, their eyes went right to an old greenhouse structure located right in garden space. The structure offered the perfect set up for a small ceremony space, and bonus… no hiking required! The owners were great and made sure that Caitlin, B, and all of their guests were comfortable during their stay!
