Ready to say “I do” without all of the hustle and bustle of a big wedding? Elopements can offer intimacy for you and your partner to share your vows in beautiful spots! Has your wedding venue cancelled due to the COVID-19? Maybe you want just a few guests to honor your special day but aren’t sure where to go? Eloping in Indiana is the perfect idea! Here are 5 beautiful Indiana elopement ideas!
First off, you may be asking yourself “What is an elopement?” An elopement is a small wedding, usually just with the couple and an officiant (which is sometimes even the photog). In the past, many believed that elopements were done in secret and often times suddenly. But more and more we are seeing planned elopements that feature only a very small amount of guests.
Elopements are perfect for couples who aren’t interested in the sort of stress that can come with accommodating hundreds of guests. They are often much cheaper and a “just us” experience for couples looking to uphold the real reason behind a wedding. They are authentic to the couple and are not at all about anyone else.
If you think an elopement is right for the two of you, here are some elopement ideas for Indiana!
Feeling all the enchanted forest vibes? Brown County State Park is the perfect spot! Say your vows on one of their several ceremony locations. This spot is perfect for even a small amount of guests.
You could even pick a secluded look out spot away from any other park guests. This location is perfect for a couple wanting an easily accessible spot!
Turkey Run has the most gorgeous rock formations! Plus in the fall, it’s colors sing so loudly! This spot is perfect for any adventurous couple!
You can say your vows on the beach or find a spot among rock formations. Choosing a weekday can make your elopement spot even more secluded!
The beaches at Indiana Dunes National Park provide for a beautiful backdrop for your elopement! It’s like that tropical vibe minus the palm trees!
They have over 15 miles of coastline with sandy beaches plus additional hiking! This spot offers so much value to couples looking to elope!
Imagine saying your vows at a sunrise elopement in front of a freaking waterfall! HECK YES! McCormick’s Creek State Park is a hidden gem of Indiana! Right down the road from McCormic’s Creek State Park is Cataract Falls, another gorgeous waterfall! You even hit two up in one day 😉 Another waterfall to consider is the waterfall at France Park in Logansport!
Shades State Park is a close second to Turkey Run State Park. It often offers similar features with much less of a crowd! The adventures are pretty endless in this gorgeous state park!
If you like the feel of Turkey Run but want more secluded, Shades is the place to go! Plus it’s pretty close to Lafayette, IN!
I stumbled upon Stauffer Farms when Brittany and Mike reached out about photographing their wedding. It is like this hidden gem I never knew existed in Indiana. It offered the most perfect ceremony spot plus their property is just all around beautiful.
Imagine getting married lakeside with no one else around. Seriously, one of my favorite elopement spots! They can also accommodate small intimate weddings.
