As the Indianapolis Elopement Photographer team we are, we can assure you, it doesn’t get sweeter than this. We always get the question, “Where in Indiana can we elope?” And today, we are answering that question for you! While there are many places across the state that celebrate the nature and beauty that Indiana has to offer, there is nothing quite like a downtown Indy elopement! So today, we are sharing the perfect elopement location for all of you couples who are looking for a city elopement vibe! So let’s get to it shall we?!
YES. HECK to the YES! Indianapolis is a greatttt place to elope to… it’s such a huge bonus to have this inclusive, fun, and safe city to celebrate your love in! Especially for those of you, like us, from Indiana!! Indy has tons of downtown attractions and endless sites to see… this is one of THE best places to elope if you’re looking for a cityscape in Indiana! City vibes? We’ve got you covered!
While Indy has so many great places to elope at, Rebecca & Chris picked a spot they loved coming to visit! We love that elopements allow couples to pick “non-traditional” locations that are important to them and their relationship. When you have a big ceremony, most places are off the table, but eloping allows you to choose just about anywhere!
Like so many things, Black Acre began with the utmost modesty! A three-barrel brew system nestled in the heart of their taproom in Irvington… It’s worked almost entirely by hand, the original brew system was a true labor of love. JUST LIKE YOU AND YOUR LOVER! Funny how you can find connections in everything, including your potential elopement and their beer, hahaha! It’s all about the love.
Basically, Black Acre Loft is an intimate, second-floor Speakeasy bar in Downtown Indy. To find the entrance, look for the crow! You’ll walk up some stairs and see some really unique pictures until you finally step foot into this cozy, eclectic bar! The fireplace room is currently one of our favorite, intimate settings. Just scroll down and you will see why!
Black Acre Loft Brewery is located at 130.5 North Deleware Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. They are currently closed to the public but they accept reservations for private events by emailing amanda@blackacrebrewing.com! This is an Indianapolis Elopement Photographer’s favorite location.
The Black Acre Loft is in downtown Indianapolis and seats nearly 45 people!! There’s a taproom that serves Black Acre beer brewed in the Irvington brewery – how cool?!! The cocktails and spirits are distilled by Wilderland, also located in Irvington! Keepin’ it local, woooohooooo! Guest wine is also available. Black Acre Brewery is the place for you if you’re looking for an elopement gone brewery style! ๐
What’s not to like?! We like that they’re inclusive, we like that they’re right here in Indiana, we like that their beer is local, and we like how amazing their location is for your elopement! The downtown location means that it is just a short walk to all things Indy, like the iconic Monument Circle! We find this place to be truly one of a kind and as an Indianapolis Elopement Photographer team, we can’t wait to see the next couple utilize this space (and their beer, haha!) for their elopement.
Indianapolis has so many Airbnb and Vrbo options! The biggest factor you want to consider is the location of your rental to the location of the activities that you’d like to do. using the map below you can see the options relative to downtown and the surrounding areas. We love to visit Mass Ave, the circle, and everything else in between. So be sure that when you select your stay, you are selecting one close to anything you’d like to do! But don’t worry if not, because you can always catch an Uber ๐
To elope in Indianapolis, you don’t need much! That’s the glory of it. You need:
They met around the lunar new year in 2021… both in what they lovingly would call their “hoe phase” (HAHAHA!) and met on Tinder. Say it with us… INTERNET WIN! “We didn’t expect to fall in love, but our first date never really ended. We’ve been inseparable since!”
Rebecca says when she met Chris, he was running in the door with arms full of groceries, apologizing for running late. Whoops! He was planning to make dinner for them, but was so danggg nervous that he lost track of time. Hahaha! We’ve all been there, admit it. Her instant impression was… he was gorgeous, and “wayyyyy out of my league” LOL!
She was SO nervous because she didn’t think she had a shot at a second date… but life is funny like that. As soon as he started prepping the food, he cut his thumb. What a damn way to start their date huh??? “I knew he was as nervous as I was, which was a huge relief!” Hahahaha this sounds straight out of a rom-com to us.
Chris says he was nervous about Rebecca arriving… “Rebecca was beautiful and her makeup and outfit were stunning that night. I was nervous and cut my thumb while cooking.” LOL, again. The dinner and movie part of their date apparently did not go well, but “Rebecca was very graceful and funny, and had great stories to tell” – y’all this is adorable. “I loved listening to her talk. I did not think a second date would be likely, but was elated when Rebecca agreed to see me again.”
And the rest is history, no??? STRAIGHT out of a stinkin’ hallmark movie.
We asked when was the moment they knew…
Rebecca says, “A specific moment doesn’t necessarily come to mind. But I remember just a few weeks into our relationship, we were hugging each other good night. Chris squeezed me tightly and asked, “When can I start telling you that I love you?” Neither of us wanted to move too quickly. But we were madly in love very early on.”
and Chris, “I was trying not to rush into loving someone because that never goes well, but this seemed different. We knew to take it slow, but we were wondering the whole time when it was appropriate to tell each other we loved each other.”
Anddddd that’s adorable too! UGH!!! We can’t take the cuteness of this couple.
We had some amazing creative team members that made this day possible! We’d love to thank them for making Chris and Rebecca’s day a success! If you are looking for some amazing vendors for your Indianapolis Elopement, check them out below!
