We are Sam + Bryt, wife and wife elopement photographers, business educators, and LGBTQ+ activitists! We are so freaking excited that you are here!
If you are ready to go on an adventure, feel empowered, or learn how to level up your business, we are your girls! So.. what are you waiting for? Let's do this thing!
HEY Y’ALL! We are coming at you with the most epic guide of things to do when you elope in Jefferson Colorado at this super cute A-Frame called the Triangle Cabin! Everything starts with a little inspiration, and ours starts with a sweet A-Frame. We fell in love with this cabin and this town a few years ago. We shared a post on Instagram and the rest is just history! Now, we are so excited to be bringing this blog to life and to be sharing all of our favorite things to do in this pretty little Colorado town! So, let’s get started on your Colorado Mountain Elopement blog!
Nature is calling… calling you straight to The Triangle Cabin! It’s the BEST mountain cabin you can find to rent and to relax… even reflect and recover – but in this case, ELOPE! Explore nature during the day, elope in the afternoon, and spend the night gazing at the stars. Are you convinced yet? We are! Enjoy the clear skies, the even cleaner air, and the drop. dead. gorgeous. panoramic mountain views allllll around you – right here.
This Triangle Cabin is a cozy little a-frame with panoramic views. It’s located only an hour and a half from Denver (which is perfect if you are flying in). It features a hot tub, a cute patio, wifi, and pretty much everything else you will need! It can sleep 4, and has the cutest interior!
Some of our favorite aspects about this cozy cabin is that it is really close to a lot of other great locations. It’s only 15 minutes from Fairplay, 55 minutes to Buena Vista, 55 minutes to Breckenridge, and just 10 minutes to some amazing local hiking spots (more on that later).
WHY?! We counter that question with another. Why freaking not?! Hahaha! It’s so gosh dang perfect because of how secluded it is, thus how romantic and personal your elopement will inevitably be! Nothing sounds sweeter in our professional opinions.
We love that it sits on a few acres of land, as this allows for lots of privacy for our couples! And if you are lucky you might just see some animals wandering around the property!
The Triangle Cabin is going to be your very best friend and be the temple of many, many of good memories should you choose to make the leap and elope here… so… what could your elopement day look like at this very cabin? Another fantastic question…
Picture this… you and your lover wake up next to one another. You snuggle in bed a little extra longer, and one of you gets up to make the coffee. Your lover and you sit outside on the porch, holding hands, talking about how excited you are to exchange vows later on that day.
You take a morning hike, the birds are chirping and you’ve got the whole trail allllll to yourselves. Romantic. Adorable. Love it. When you get back, it’s game time.
You both start to get ready (with whatever loved ones are with you – if any!) and anticipation is high! YOU’RE ABOUT TO BE MARRIED. Your favorite music is playing; there is laughter filling the house.
You’re dressed. You’re ready. You meet at the altar outside the same house you got ready in… exchange your vows… the big kiss.. you’re married. You did the damn thing!
Now, because you’ve eloped, you can spend the rest of the day however your heart desires. Choose a few hikes to go on to grab more epic photos, enjoy your first dance as the sun goes behind the mountains.
Hire a private chef to come to cook at the house, horseback riding perhaps, or maybe some matching tattoos?! The possibilities are endless here – all. because. you. eloped.
Blogger, Monica Goes, got to visit the Triangle Cabin and made this super cute Youtube Video to show you just how beautiful it is! So until our visit in October, we figured we’d show you just how amazing this location is! I mean the views.. You cannot go wrong. Just see for yourself!
Elopements can vary by the travel that you need to add in. Starting with flights, car rental, renting your airbnb, and finding your vendors. Elopements can average between $5,000 to $15,000 depending on just how extravagant you want to make it. But all in all, we think it is worth it because, it’s like a weeklong honeymoon too, right?!
Trails are found by our best hiking friend search engine – All Trails!
After your elopement, we know that you’d love to travel around to see all that Colorado has to offer! Here are a few places that are not too far away from The Triangle Cabin!
This cool location is full of lots of pluses… it’s kind of a catch-all! If you’re wanting to have a romantic picnic by the lake, you got it! How about a hike through the Colorado trail? You got that too! Camping? OF COURSE! While it takes roughly 6 weeks to complete the whole trail at this location (DAMN!), you can always adjust it to your terms and make it as short and sweet as you would like 🙂
Spoookkkyyyyy. except it’s not! 😉 Colorado has a lot of ghost towns, or abandoned towns, but they’re nothing to be scared of! In fact, go ahead and explore them!! The majority of them are pretty well known and have many visitors a day, the closest to Jefferson, Colorado can be Tarryall Ghost town or St. Elmo Ghost Down (one of the best-preserved ghost towns)- check it out!
Are you a national park lover?! This recommendation is for you. Pike National Forest is gorgggg and has so many stellar, unforgettable views! You don’t want to skip out on this beauty. It is 1,729 square miles of land in the front range of the Rocky Mountains!! WOWZA. It contains most of the forest going west from Colorado Springs and is one of the closest national forests to Denver.
You may be thinking, “they still have saloons?” and HELL YEAH THEY DO! Out west, they do it right. Enjoy a night drinking and dancing with your lover at Stagestop Store and Saloon… This family-owned business is known for their drinks and pizza – per their Facebook page 😉 and it looks DELICIOUS!
We heard margaritas… and we’re in!! 3 Margaritas Conifer is quite the place, lemme tell ya! Their reviews have are allll raving about the margaritas and chips and salsa. WHAT ELSE COULD YOU ASK FOR?! Mexican cuisine is always, always a win. Take your fiesta in the road.. straight to this restaurant!
Catch a concert of your fav band and spend the night dancing your cares away at Red Rock! The Red Rocks Amphitheater is famous for being a one of a kind concert venue and for always having quite the show! Your evening can only get better when you add a Red Rocks concert to your to do list!!
OH YEAH. This is about to get epic… Go rafting in Colorado with Rocky Mountain Whitewater Rafting! Located in Idaho Springs right on Clear Creek! Y’allllll… you won’t stop talking about this one. Take your lover and make a day out of this! You’ll leave soaked… but you’ll stay laughing and talking about this adventure.
A day trip to Denver to zip line?! We think YES! Denver Adventures is Denver’s “Premier Adventure Outfitter”. Explore the Rocky Mountains through the zip line hahaha!! Can’t get better than that for sureeee! If you’re looking for a thrill, this is made just for you.
Get your boots on and get ready to “cowboy up!” as they say 😉 Take a guided horseback ride with your loverrrr, Local companies include C&M Outfitters, American Safari Ranch, and Plattee Ranch Stables. These are about 30 minutes from the Triangle.
There are sooo many hot springs to choose from but these ones are only an hour and 15 minutes from the Triangle. Mount Princeton and Cottonwood Hot Springs in Buena Vista are among some of the most popular!
The inspiration you have been waiting for! Look no futher, because Janna & Delaney’s day is all the inspo you need to plan your Colorado Mountain Elopement! Some fun details include The triangle cabin (duh ;)), hiking to their perfect ceremony spot, journals that they stopped and read entries from, and even choosing each other’s perfume for their day!
We know you are dying to get a head start on staring at these beautiful images, so without further adieu, here they are!
OMG. We have reached the end to our Colorado Mountain Elopement blog. Bitter, sweet because we lovedddd sharing all about this place. But we guess that means only one thing…. now you have to visit! LOL!
