Welcome back everybody! Wow do we have something special for you today… today we are bloggin’ all about Amanda and Jessica and their West Lafayette Engagement session. THEY WERE A DREAM! We absolutely adored working with these two and it definitely will not be the last time they stun us and our cameras! 🙂
MEET THE HAPPY COUPLE
Another restaurant love story here, but trust us! This one is unique and not just like the rest. Jess tells us she is positive the two met at Scotty’s Brewhouse in Muncie, but that’s not what Amanda says! OH NO!!! Apparently the confusion started because Amanda knew of Jess way before Jess knew of Amanda! “How is this so???” You may be asking. Well, Amanda shares more of her side of the story to clear things up. “We really met at the Ball State Student Center basement, but Jess was too busy laughing, running around, and tye-dying shirts to notice me. She was a tornado and I was just a wide-eyed bystander.” THAT is one heck of a way to describe the first time you saw the love of you life… so. freaking. cute.
THE PROPOSAL
Amanda and Jessica started dating wayyy back in the year 2016. About two months into dating, Amanda asks Jess what kind of ring she wants in the future, “just in case, of course!” HAHA! We love this. Jessica says that Amanda is “very subtle..not.” LOL a couple that learns to laugh at each other and themselves are the best! Fast forward three years and Amanda bought the (sustainable and conflict-free) ring from Brilliant Earth! She had invited friends and family to Christkindlmarkt in downtown Chicago and directed them to arrive at a specific time so that they would all be right there when she got down on one knee! Perfection! Love it.
“It was packed, with the smell of cheese and bratwurst in the air,” they share with us. “Jess, being Jess, completely ignored me thinking I was on one knee tying my shoe! Jess’s brother had to redirect Jess’s attention BACK to me.” This had to have been soooo funny to look back on, but absolutely nerve wracking in the moment! Amanda must be forever grateful to Eric for the subtle nod to the proposal, ha!
THEIR WEST LAFAYETTE ENGAGEMENT SESSION
At one point, Amanda was sinking into the marsh by the lake. YEP. If you walk out of your session completely clean, or completely dry, you are doing it wrong! Or at least with us hahaha 😉 Adventure is our middle name, so wear some good hiking shoes! It was a beautiful, sweet moment from our end, but Amanda complaining about her crisis made Jess laugh more and more until the wet (brand new) shoes didn’t matter anymore. HAHA! Oh, and Jess aka ‘Snow White’ managed to get a lost dog to follow her down to the lake for us to track down the owners for! Amanda and Jessica leave you all with one final note, “We had a wonderful time! It was over WAY TOO quickly!” And we thought so too!!!!
