So you’re thinking about a Colorado elopement. SUUUWEEEET! First maybe we should go over what an elopement is! An elopement is an intimate wedding that keeps the focus on you as a couple, and your commitment to each other, rather than the production and traditions of a big wedding. Some elopements do not even have guests at all! The best part about an elopement (besides marrying the love of your life and the beautiful location) YOU GET TO MAKE ALL OF THE RULES!!
Ready to have a breathtaking elopement in Colorado? Here are some helpful tips we have put together for you!
Colorado is the perfect elopement spot for anyone who loves the outdoors. Here are a few of our favorite spots!
Chautauqua Park, Boulder
Chautauqua park is about 30- 45 minutes outside of Denver. This is a location where you do not have to hike to get a beautiful view. One of the best backdrops in Colorado are the Flatirons. The flat irons overlook the city of boulder. This location has a great mountain view!
Rocky Mountain National Park
Who would not want to be married in a National Park? This option is absolutely GORGEOUS. Having the mountains at your backs makes for great wedding photos! This national park is so widespread that you will not have a problem finding the PERFECT ceremony spot! Since this is a national park there is a fee to get into the park. Don’t worry! This fee is to maintain the beauty of the park. The Rocky Mountain National Park is about two hours from Denver, it may be a good idea to rent a private cabin for you and your honey to cuddle up in after the ceremony!
Garden of the Gods
Garden of the Gods has designated elopement sites! HOLY COW! It is completely free to get married here. This is a public park in Colorado Springs. From Garden of the Gods you can view Pikes peak and the beautiful red rock. No reservations are to be made to get married here!
Estes Park
Estes Park is one of the most ideal locations for couples to get married because it is such a beautiful town and you are near the Rocky Mountains National Park. Couples seek out Estes Park for elopements because there are so many options for beautiful scenery, restaurants, and lodging available!
