We are Sam + Bryt, wife and wife elopement photographers, business educators, and LGBTQ+ activitists! We are so freaking excited that you are here!
If you are ready to go on an adventure, feel empowered, or learn how to level up your business, we are your girls! So.. what are you waiting for? Let's do this thing!
Welcome welcome y’all! This shoot is a DREAM shoot for an LGBTQ Engagement photographer. Taylor and Elle and their love are something to witness. We took a day trip to Tippecanoe Battlefield and Prophet’s Rock with the hopes to hike a little and capture a whole lot of magic, and that we did. Keep one your scrolling roll to see everything we did and hear everything that brought Taylor and Elle to this point.
The Tippecanoe Battlefield is quite the national historic landmark! It calls a 96-acre park setting home smack dab in Battle Ground, Indiana! It is complete with picnic areas, nature center, historic and scenic hiking trails. There is an 85-foot marble monument built up in 1908 and happens to marks the site of the November 7, 1811, Battle of Tippecanoe! This historic battle was led by William Henry Harrison, and representatives of Tecumseh’s Native American confederation. There is also a museum on this campus where you can learn more!
Now… Prophet’s Rock! This epic structure Prophet’s Rock overlooks the Tippecanoe Battlefield! The rock has been worn over years and years into caves, great grooves and beautiful arches alll by erosion. It just so happens to make the perfect backdrop, as we found out during this photo session.
Most likely, you’ll need to find your way to Highway 52 and take it to Battleground, Indiana! Listen y’all, we are not the most directionally inclined here – so we’re gonna send you straight to Google Maps in order to get ya off on the right track! Find directions to Battlefield and to Prophets Rock here.
Little might you know… Tippecanoe county (where the Battlefield and Prophet’s Rock are!) is also known for something else… it’s a big university… black and gold… any guesses?! Tippecanoe county is home to Purdue University! Boiler up, y’all, there is so much to do here! Go bowling in the Purdue Union building, find a bar right in the heart of downtown (we recommend Brothers, The Tap, or Harry’s!), or visit Von’s Shops for cool and unique knick knacks. Catch a movie at Wabash 9 or paint yourself some DIY pottery at All Fired Up! pottery.
These lovers recently celebrated their one year anniversary and what’s a better way to celebrate than with PHOTOS?! This little LGBTQ Engagement photographer heart is so happy they did. We cannot think of a better way for real. This love is a Tinder match made in heaven and dangggg do we think they made the right choice swimming right, haha!
Their ideal date night goes as follows… “Wake up, go to Eleventh House for breakfast, dog park with our pup, come home to puzzle, go to a movie, go out for dinner, and have some intimate time together.” We love this as well! When we asked them what they wanted out of this photo session, they came ready with an answer. “Some queer affirmation” – OHHHHH BABY! Do we got you covered. “We are so excited to be photographed by another queer couple! We are also hoping to become travel content creators so this may be a good place to start with some hiking content photos!”
We asked them to describe each other’s personalities, this is what they shared. Elle says Taylor is silly, goofy, organized, intuitive, smart, creative… and Taylor shares that Elle is kind, thoughtful, mindful/present, adventurous, funny, very cute. LOL, we love the last one.
“What are your favorite physical attributes about one another?”. Taylor shares that Elle’s cheeks and curly hair get her EVERY time. Elle says that Taylor’s smile and eyes and strong hands do it for her.
When asked what they love most about one another, “I love Elle’s confidence and mindfulness – they live life “in the moment” and remind me to take pause” and Elle says, ” I love how much Taylor cares and how thoughtful she is about people and their situations.”
Together, their favorite things to do are hike, do puzzles, travel, read, cooking, and even have a weekly date night. They rotate who plans and love trying new things on the dates!
In twenty years they want to remember how much joy and excitement they both have for their future and how present they can be with one another. We LOVE this love y’all, and we loved being their LGBTQ Engagement photographer.
Wowza. This couples session makes our hearts swoon. Elle and Taylor – thank you for choosing us to shoot this session for you. PLEASE help us in wishing these two well as they moved ACROSS the country the day after these photos to chase their dreams in Portland, Oregon with their dog and cat. We can’t wait to hear all about their new adventures.
