Gimme the details of this Fair Oaks Farm Wedding
To start off, Dean says his most anticipated part of the day was… drum roll please… sleeping. HA! Spoken like every guy ever. Shannon says she was most looking forward to seeing Dean for the first time! Obviously, in this relationship we have got a romantic and a realist. And we love to see it, LOL!
Everything went right to plan for these two and their big day! Dean’s fav part was getting to finally marry his girl and Shannon’s was when their family and friends started to sing along to their first dance song, Stand By Me. THAT was one of the sweetest moments ever. We agree. 😉
Shannon told us that Dean has this “superpower” to mask allll of his nerves, thus he was no help in giving ideas on how to work through wedding day jitters. Shannons best advice is laugh it off…… and take a shot of the moonshine your brother brought. HAHA! Again, we’re just keepin’ things real at Samantha Mitchell Photography.
The first look was PERFECTION. Shannon and Dean agree and recommend it to any couples planning their wedding right now! They told us that it was nice for them to have a second alone from all the business of the day and have a sweet private moment together 🙂 LOVE IT!
The Venue From This Fair Oaks Farm Wedding
Nestled in between fields of crops sits Fair Oaks Clubhouse. A hidden gem if you ask us! We knew that the big Fair Oaks and the restaurant existed, but we hadn’t ever traveled past the main venue. Secretly tucked away sits a private clubhouse with elopement vibes for any couple wanting to have a little intimacy on their wedding day. Surrounded by a sea of trees sits a quaint little clubhouse and horse barn. Shannon grew up with horses so it was only fitting that she walk down an aisle of horses on their wedding day! We honestly had no idea this venue existed until Shannon texted us the day of the venue tour and showed us just how much potential this little lodge has. We hope to be back soon for more wedding days!
Post-Wedding Day Advice.
“Hire Sam because she keeps you organized and on time to the dot. Also keep in mind that less is more when it comes to decorations. Don’t spend your whole budget on DIY decorations you might think are cute at the time. Spend that money on flowers from Debbie’s Designs in Crown Point, IN instead. Also tell your bridal party and parents “thank you” every chance you get.”
