Prairie Guest House, Fishers
Looking to get away from the city and still be close to everything?? This is your place. Excellent food, great lodging, and wonderful nights sleep, and relaxing yoga can be found at The Prairie Guest House. This is a farm-like setting located on 2 acres in Hamilton County Indiana with beautiful gardens, large native Indiana trees, and their very own barn. This sugar-sweet location will take you back to a simpler time with it’s mid 1800’s gothic farmhouse equipped with large guest rooms that each have their own bath facilities + great common areas to relax.
The SAMARA House, West Lafayette
The John and Catherine Christian House, more commonly known as the SAMARA house is one of the most complete Frank Lloyd Wright Homes in the entire United States. You can marry right outside the house and use the grounds as the perfect backdrop for all of your beautiful portraits! SAMARA is located close to Interstate 65 in West Lafayette, Indiana. It’s about halfway between Chicago and Columbus! We photographed our first elopement at the SAMARA house recently, check out there photos HERE!
The Ivory Foundry, Indianapolis
One of our favorite Indianapolis Venues is the perfect mix of industrial meets intimate feel. The Ivory Foundry is located in Indianapolis and is a perfect inclusive venue for all couples (including LGBTQ+ couples). They can seat up to 150+ but it truly feels like an intimate space. This space was created with couples in mind as the venue owners started out (and still are) photographers. We appreciate all the little details plus the beautiful light this place offers!
The Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens, Fishers
Dreaming of an intimate garden wedding? Look no further! The Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens are what elopement dreams are made of. This charming Greek Revival style home is the perfect setting. In the winter they can fit less than 60 guests in the historic house but in the garden they can accommodate your perfect guest list. A garden event here can cost about $2,500 and that will include access to the home and gardens for 6 hours for Sunday-Thursday (ceremony only).
Balmoral House, Fishers
This one. This is THE ONE! The Balmoral House provides a unique venue for any celebration. It includes a variety of spaces throughout the house and grounds; their skilled team is willing to work with you and all of your marvelous ideas to design a plan to meet your event needs! AHH! SO EXCITING. Each space has its own personality and can accommodate groups from 15-150 with ease.
The Queen & I BNB & Yurt, Crawfordsville
This has easily become one of our favorite intimate wedding spots. After shooting two elopements here we can easily say this is one of the best elopement spots in Indiana. Who would have known there was such a cute Yurt located in Crawfordsville?! Rent the yurt, set up a cute little ceremony in the woods on the property, and adventure to Turkey Run or Shades State park for your photos! If you love the idea of a backyard garden wedding but don’t have the place to have it, you are going to love the Indy Hostel! This venue is perfect for outdoor events and they even have a cute little stage for your ceremony! Indy Hostel was built in the 1920’s and they have the perfect getting ready rooms for all! They can accomodate up to 150 guests in their backyard setting plus you can even rent the hostel out and sleep up to 40! Imagine having any vendors you prefer and creating one of the most special wedding days, Indy Hostel is truly a perfect venue!
Treetop Retreat, Brown County
At Treetop Retreat you can truly enjoy all the beauty that Brown County has to offer. At the Treetop Retreat you are able to truly enjoy a little slice of unspoiled, beautiful nature! This eco-friendly Brown County, Indiana wedding venue is designed to bring, families, friends and lovers together in an intimate and beautiful setting. With room for 2 to 60 people, this spot is excellent for elopements. 😉

This hidden gem is located just outside Nashville, Indiana and is located within the 16,000 acre Brown County State Park. Here you can EVEN visit some of Indiana’s most beautiful landscapes by foot, horse or car. HOW AWESOME DOES THAT SOUND Y’ALL? Not only all of this goodness mentioned above, but you can’t forget to check out the town of Nashville with all of its arts and crafts shopping + local wineries!
The Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis
Calm down you wedding planning animals! Hahaha enough with the sad animal/zoo puns… we have quite the venue for you. Get married in front of a couple of lions, tigers, or maybe bears at The Indianapolis Zoo! AMAZING, right?! There are live animals throughout the park and property, an old fashioned school house, and the 100+ year-old Buckley Barn earns the entire homestead a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Is this location calling your name???
Indiana State Museum, Indianapolis
At the iconic Governor Frank & Judy O’Bannon Great Hall, your big day will be right along the canal flowing right outside and with the breathtaking architecture indoors?! This is the ideal space for your memorable event! This great hall has a jaw dropping, soaring 100-foot ceiling and spectacular views of the Canal and Military Park. You will have access to their professional event planners who will provide you with the expertise and customer service you need to ensure that your event runs smoothly 🙂 How awesome is that!!
The Benton House, Irvington
Another beautiful garden house to add to our list. With thousands of daffodils planted on the property, it truly is a perfect spring wedding location! It was built in 1873, on a wooded lot. It’s a charming example of Second Empire architecture! The Benton House is a 10-room brick house and a nonprofit organization. I can just imagine a few chairs set up right in the front of the house with a small reception in the gardens.
The Indianapolis Propylaeum
Picture this, a carriage house fit for an intimate elopement. The historic carriage house at the Indianapolis Propylaeum is the perfect setting for a Christmas themed elopement. The historic charm, grand staircases, and beautiful property of a historic mansion (that is just minutes from Downtown Indy) can be the perfect small wedding venue for you and your future spouse. The best part is, you can even stay the night before or after your wedding!
Hotel Tango, Indianapolis
The Foxhole at Hotel Tango is the perfect spot for a small wedding! Think rustic chic meets industrial warehouse. Starting at $2500, it can seat up to 96 guests but we feel it is perfect for the 30 ish or less guest list. Picture this, a brick fireplace, guests sipping on craft cocktails as they await your candle lit ceremony… yep pretty dreamy!
Water Tower Estates Winery, Terre Haute
Alright, what is better than celebrating your wedding day with wine straight from the place you’re partying at? I’m not sure anything gets better! Reserve this hell of a winery for your event today! Water Tower Estates Winery is the perfect location for weddings in the 1500 square foot barn, newly renovated for your big day! All wedding reservations come with, tables, linens, and chairs. Plus, our relatives own this beautiful spot! For that reason, I guess you could say this is one of our top small wedding venues in Indiana!

Located in the heart of downtown Greenwood, this charming home is the perfect setting for small weddings and intimate elopements! With multiple micro wedding packages it is easy to find one to fit your needs. The Folktale Greenwood consists of a vintage home sitting on 2 acres, beautiful trees and more!
Coxhall Gardens, Carmel
This is for anyone on the search for a classy, sleek, and gorgeous wedding venue. Coxhall Gardens is a unique and fascinating park, waiting to be discovered. Fair Oaks unique spaces include both indoor and outdoor opportunities… In addition, they are also there to make any accommodations for ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners and more! Enjoy your special day with up to 200 guests at Fair Oaks Farms. Multiple wedding packages are available as well as custom menus. Dance floor setup & cake cutting fees are included in all packages. As well décor and linen packages are also made to be available. Did you and your love meet at Butler? Maybe you just love the school? OR MAYBE you’re just looking for some place special to say “I DO!” Whatever it is you’re looking for, Holcomb Gardens has got it. Located on the near northside of Indianapolis in the heart of Butler University’s campus, the gardens encompass twenty acres of hillside overlooking a small manmade lake and the historic Indianapolis Central Canal. The grounds contain a lake, waterfalls, garden house, gazebo, the poets’ corner (a niche of stone benches inscribed with quotations by famous poets), and the philosophers’ bench (a similar area with philosophers’ quotations). Yup. Pretty cool place. Which makes this one of our favorite small wedding venues in Indiana!
Inntiquity, A Country Inn, Logansport
This Indiana bed and breakfast is the town of Logansport’s most elegant mini boutique hotel. Looking for an adventure outside of your wedding day/stay at the Inntiquity? Their accommodations are just a short drive from Indiana Beach, France Park and Purdue University, and Delphi Wabash Erie Canal Park. Inntiquity’s family-owned, whirlpool-suite B&B sits on 23 acres with ponds, meadows, gardens with a gazebo, and wildlife. Staying at this boutique hotel is a unique Logansport experience.
Embers Venue, Rensselaer
This place is SERIOUSLY spectacular. Embers Venue began in 2013 as a warehouse turned into an event space… After years of wedding receptions, reunions, baby/bridal showers, concerts, corporate events, and other private gatherings, they expanded the space and created the STATION! The station is a wood fired, brick oven bistro eatery and craft bar that features local flavors and tastes. It is open to the public Tuesday through Thursday 11am to 9pm and Friday/Saturday 11am to 10pm. YUM!
Ross Camp, Lafayette
This little spot is located 11 miles out South River Road from the State Street and River Road intersection in West Lafayette. The 200 mostly wooded acres of Ross Camp are the adjoining property to the west of Ross Hills Park. Located on the property are an A Frame lodge available to you for a reception, a chapel for the wedding, and dinning hall. Everything you might need! 😉

Alright, here us out on this one! Backyard weddings are some of the most fun weddings we have ever been to. You can truly make your backyard look super weddingesque with just a few little items! Plus, rental cost of your backyard…FREE! Alex and Andrea had an intimate backyard wedding in their relatives backyard and it was perfect! Completed with a tented reception, it was truly a night to remember. This is one of our favorite options for small wedding venues in Indiana!
