COVID-19 got you planning a second wedding?! You are not alone! Even though we life in Central Indiana, there are still plenty of beautiful locations to have a simple elopement or intimate ceremony! If you are ready to plan a wedding that is JUST FOR YOU we have you covered! Here are out top elopement locations in Central Indiana!
The Moses Fowler house is located at the corner of 20th and Sourth Streets in Lafayette, Indiana. When driving by, you can’t miss the Romeo + Juliet styled mansion! This house can accomodate only a few people (think elopement) up to a lot of people! All day wedding rentals are from 9am-11pm. The outdoor space is really what is the selling point for me. You can have your elopement ceremony in front of the beautiifulstaircase or even on the balcony!
The John and Catherine Christian House, which is more comonly known as the SAMARA house, is one of the most complete Frank Llyold Wright homes in the United States. It’s tucked all the way back in a neighborhood, and you wouldn’t even know it existed until you pulled all the way up! The property around the house gives all forest vibes plus the house itself is truly an art piece. Your elopement ceremony could be performed in numerous spots around the yard or even in front of some of the best arhitectural pieces.
It’s no secret that local parks have some of the best locations for elopements. Parks can provide a variety of scenes such as “beachy” vibes, forest vibes, or even rustic vibes! Indiana has some amazing spots, you just have to look a little closer! Check out the below elopement that featured a local park in Lafayette, Indiana! Still cannot believe it’s in Indiana! Plus people are super respecful and let you celebrate in peace 😉
Celebrate your elopement + have a private place to stay after! The Lighthouse Lodge is nestled right on Lake Shafer, and can be a perfect escape from the rolling corn fields of Indiana 😉 This location is about 90 minutes from Chicago/Indianapolis and they can accomodate up to 50 guests as well. We think the best part about this location is that you can hang out on the lake, rent a boat, and go paddleboarding after your elopement! If you are even feeling up for an adventure, having a sunset sail reception on a rented boat would be super fun as well! You can even source your celebratory wine bottle from Whyte Horse Winery (a super delicious + local) winery in Monticello!
The Gathering Barn is situated on six acres of farmland in Carroll County. It’s the perfect little spot for an intimate ceremony or elopement. The best part about this venue is the owners willingness to accomodate ALL kinds of couples! It even has heating + air for any season. We loved how the ceremony spot was settled right in front of this historic white barn.
The Indy Hostel is just about anything you can want it to be. A place to get ready plus a gorgeous outside venue to exchange your vows. You can even stay the night and enjoy their space after your ceremony! We also love the location and versatility the Indy Hostel has to offer. The easiest way to get in contact with them is to call them! Hang some strings of lights from the patio + a candlelight ceremony is perfect for this spot!
Sounds funny, but if you are looking for a modern elopement location, we can truly style up the top of a parking garage! You can truly elope on a budget, plus it can make for some beautiful sunset spots! Drive around to parking garages in your area + check out the top of them! Bonus if there is a heated elevator 😉 ) For all of those winter elopements!
There is no shortage of waterfalls in Indiana! A waterfall can be a beautiful spot to say your vows. We suggest checking out the waterfall before you go so you can make sure you are able to climb any rocks that might lead to them 🙂 We also suggest wearing chacos + having a sunrise elopement so that you can have as private of a vow exchange as possible!
