Purdue University, home of the Boilers, and the Purdue Horticulture Park! These Purdue University Engagement Photos in West Lafayette, Indiana were taken at this park and we cannot say enough excellent things about it… we have shot there in the spring, in the summer, in the fall, and as it turns out… the winter might have the best sunlight and backdrops of all of those! Located on 35 acres of land, Hort Park is a serious find and can be good for a morning run, afternoon picnic, evening hike – whatever! We are big fans of it and we will continue to shoot here forever and everrrrr… Wait until you see these pics! They’re FIRE! Winter engagement sessions can be hard… no doubt! These Purdue University Engagement Photos in West Lafayette, Indiana look so fun, and OHHH BOY they were!, but they were still a lot of work to make them bearable in those winter temps! Here are our best winter engagement session tips! Make your winter photos more fun 🙂
There is a never-ending list of things to do on Purdue’s campus, so we will try to only share the best and our personal favorites! Go Boilers!
Have lunch/dinner at Triple Xxx – This is arguably what West Lafayette and this campus is most known for. This little restaurant may look just like a strange-looking building on the main road through campus, but it is MIGHTY! Known for their roobeer more than anything, this place is gonna fill ya up!
Go to VONS shop! The owner is actually… still a guy named Von! Haha!! This little local-owned shop is the earthy, hippie, book lover, collectible lover, artist’s DREAM! This shop has everything from clothing to jewelry to books to quirky, small gifts! You need to see this place.
Get a Vanilla Coke at The Igloo! Another locally-owned place that is just so dang cute… the igloo is known for their fun flavored sodas, BUT they have good food and better yet, GOOD ICE CREAM! Hahaha maybe we just love sweets in this house, idk! I do know we love us some Igloo, though!
Beers at Harry’s! Probably Purdue’s most famous and well-known bar, Harry’s Chocolate Shop is a must-do. GO getcha some drinks and enjoy the vibes while looking at allll the hung pictures on the wall. It’s super cool!
This is always THE question couples get asked… and we are following suit LOL! We wanna know the details! Lucky for you, we have allll the good details.
They were in a meeting for a college trip… both studying at DePaul! See, college can be good for things other than a degree, LOL! Nick handed Doron a piece of paper and “she briskly grabbed it from me, making me think she didn’t want anything to do with me” says Nick. HA! It seems us humans love to convince ourselves of the worst before we have evidence of it…
Doron says she doesn’t recall that at all! YUP. Sounds about right, haha! She remembers meeting Nick when they were on that college trip in Paris, France. What a crazy trip, right?!!! They hung out with the same group of people and got to know each other very well over 10 longgg days in Paris. Doron says, “I had a crush on Nick and thought he was very sweet and cute, but I didn’t know if he liked me. I thought we might just end up being friends, but then he asked me out on a date when we landed back Indy at the end of the trip.”
We asked what song speaks for their relationship and love for one another… “La Vie en Rose – it’s french and so romantic <3 it will be our wedding song. We also both really love the Beatles.”
Ahhhhh so it’s true, Paris is for lovers!
It was quite the formal proposal! They took a sweet little trip to the Austin Botanical Gardens at the end of last July… we wanna see that place, it looks so cool! The two lovers walked around the gardens for a long time and then finally, they stopped in a little gazebo in the Prehistoric garden… It was then that Nick got down on one knee and popped the question.
Look at this BLING! Nick actually designed it! INSANITY! He did it with the help of a designer from Brilliant Earth. The detail is sapphire (Nick’s birthstone) and amethyst (Doron’s birthstone) intertwined around the diamond… and now we are swooning all over again. That is SO DAMN SWEET!
These two are made for each other. They actually told us they get that a lot too, “People tell us we fit each other. They say we are cute, and silly, and ridiculous together”, AND WE AGREE.
Together, there are many things they love about one another. Doron loves Nick’s smile, she says it brings her to her knees! Adorable. Nick’s answer has our hearts swooning again, he says his favorite thing is how Doron’s hand fits perfectly in his. YEAH OKAYYYY, that is freaking adorable. That’s all we can say about that.
Doron and Nick’s Purdue University Engagement Photos was just so dang sweet and so gorgeous! The light really came out to play with us and we can’t get over the pictures. We hope you loved their story as much as we did!
