Hey, Hey, Hey!! Welcome back to SMP’s blog where we talk about all things couples, love, photography, and today… PUPPIES! Who doesn’t love a good photo session including a puppy?! If you said no… we need to chat. Nothing excites a couple of Indiana photographers (us, LOL) like a pup. I mean come on, we have four of them ourselves haha!
Marianna and Cory reached out to us a while back saying they had just adopted their first fur baby. And guess what?? They wanted to document this time in their lives through photos – who wouldn’t?!
Together for 6 years! WOW.
“We started dating Junior year of college and got married shortly after graduation. We knew we never wanted a big wedding. Plus it would be really difficult to pull it off with our families living in different countries, so the two of us just got married at the courthouse in 2017. Two years later, we had a small ceremony with our parents and my sister in Punta Cana. We had such a great time!
The year we graduated from college (and got married), Cory moved to Chicago and I moved to Columbus in Southern Indiana for our jobs. We lived apart for a year. Cory decided to come back to Indiana for a new job opportunity and to be closer to family.
One thing we love to do together is travel. So far we’ve been to 20+ states and our goal is to visit all of them! We love being outdoors, so we usually plan our trips around the National Parks in each state so we can go hiking and exploring. Our most recent trip was to the USVI and it was amazing! Once things get better with the pandemic, our plan is to start traveling internationally (hopefully soon!). “
In 2020, we built our first home in Westfield, IN, and moved in January 2021. Cory’s dad is really handy, so in the first half of 2021 we spent quite a bit of time working on projects around the house. We learned a lot from him and it was nice spending quality time with his parents! We wrapped up most of our projects over the summer and are taking a much-needed break 😊 next year the plan is to work on landscaping, a built-in bookshelf in the office, and our linen closet, then I’m hoping to be done until we move out of this house lol.”
This is THE adventure couple of all adventure couples if you ask me. Always down for a quick getaway and a chance to explore!
“Both Cory and I grew up with dogs our entire lives and getting one was always in our plans, we just never felt like it was the “right time”. With our jobs and still living in an apartment, we just didn’t feel like we would be able to dedicate the right amount of time or have enough space.
Well… in 2020 we started working remotely due to COVID and closed on our new build in Westfield. Once the house was done and we moved in early 2021, we started talking about the idea of potentially getting a dog. We went back and forth several times, for several months (we are both overthinkers 😂), but never really pulled the trigger.
One night in November we were both looking through PetFinder and I saw Rio (his original name was Frankie). As cheesy as it sounds, I just had this feeling about him and told Cory I was submitting an adoption application (Wednesday). They say it usually takes 1-2 weeks to hear back, so we told ourselves to try and not get too excited / get our hopes up because a lot of people were probably applying for him.
One day later (Thursday) his foster texted us asking if we wanted to do a meet and greet that Saturday! I was so nervous that day that Cory had to pull over on our way down because I got sick lol. I guess I was afraid we wouldn’t click / the foster wouldn’t think we were a good fit. We get to her house and see this little furball walking out the door and it was 100% love at first sight, so we picked him up, and well, here we are 😊
Whenever we talked about getting a dog, we always knew we wanted a rescue, because there are so many dogs out there that need homes and it just felt like the right thing to do for us. All I can say is I am so glad we did and would 100% recommend adopting.”
And the rest? HISTORY.
Please oooo and awwww over these photos. Like we did. Like we still do. They. Are. Too. Sweet. These photos warm our little hearts and why we love being Indiana Photographers… the views at this park are just as sweet!
ITS TOO MUCH. IT’S TOOOOO MUCH. Cuteness overload, to the max! Sweet, sweet Rio… I fear you have many snuggles and kisses in your future – get used to it, sweet boy!! (Mariana and Cory – if y’all ever need a pet sitter, you know who to call)… And if you ever need a puppy photographer, you know where to find us!
Would you ever travel with your dog? Would you bring your fav Indiana Photographers along? 😉
XOXO
