There is SO much to do if you are the slightest nature-y and outdoors-y. SOOOO much good freaking hiking, it’s unbelievable. The natural backdrops this place adds to your wedding portraits is, chefs kiss! The white walls of the wedding barn really make this place feel like a dream location.
You’ll find the Wilds Wedding Venue wedding venue at the tip top of some of the infamous Hills of Brown County! Hahahaha you’ve heard of Beverly Hills, well try these Bloomington Hills! 🙂 Located in the heart of a breathtaking 125 acre stretch of farmland, The Wilds is truly WILD! Only a 10 minute drive from Bloomington, IN AND Nashville, IN (and only a short drive from Indy hehehe), this babe is pretty darn accessible.
As you take in alllll of the surrounding forest (There is SO MUCH down in southern Indiana, for real!) for miles and miles and miles, you’ll surely feel swept away into some kind of a magical world… our assistant Grace goes to school in Bloomington and she agrees! Bloomington has a sort of magic to it! 🙂 The Wilds provides you and your guests with EASY access to many accommodations and entertainment opportunity. Nothing is better than “that was easy!” when it comes to planning your wedding day.

We are huge airbnb advocates, so, what can we say? STAY IN A BNB! After a Wilds Wedding Venue, head to your home away from home. It’s always such a cool experience, you literally get to live in a cool house for a night or two or three and then at the end of the day go back to your own home! It’s like a mini vacay hahaha, except you’re getting married and get to stay somewhere wayyyy cooler than any hotel we’ve ever seen. 😉 Here are some Airbnbs in Bloomington we discovered, just for you.
“Located in Bloomington Indiana. My 1920s bungalow includes two guest bedrooms with queen sized beds, down comforters, feather/down pillows, line curtains and private bathroom. The guest area also includes a garden porch, private entrance, living room and, dining area with microwave, small refrigerator and handmade maple work table. NO KITCHEN.”
“This is a colorful, clean and comfortable space that I have created for visitors to Bloomington. I recently renovated and decorated this unit based on my tastes and travels to over 75+ countries. This is a fully enclosed apartment with its own entrance that is the middle of three units of an historic and unique triplex in the McDoel Gardens neighborhood.”
“This apartment is sanitized and disinfected by our incredibly careful and meticulous cleaning crew in before each reservation and is perfect for long term stays. Within walking distance of Downtown, Bryan Park, and The B-Line Trail, this luxury apartment is one of the nicest places to stay in town. It has undergone a complete renovation that rivals a premium suite at a boutique hotel with the added privacy.”
“Boho Garden Bungalow is blocks from Bloomington’s beautiful, vibrant downtown & minutes from IU, yet tucked away off a quiet alley in the historic district. This charming 1920s home has all the beauty and tranquility of a classic English garden outside, and all the easy breezy vibe of a chic Bohemian pad inside.”
What isn’t there to do in Bloomington, that is the question! 😉 Our assistant goes to school at Indiana University and she helped us out with this list of all the fun things to do in this quirky town! So after your weddint at The Wilds Venue, enjoy this list!
Another internet win!! LOVE! They matched on Bumble! Britt moved to Indiana in July of 2019 to start her new job at Indiana State University after graduating from her master’s program. While she was extremely busy adjusting to her new role at Indiana State University, she was swiping on Bumble on the side! LOL! We get it! Britt was sitting in the car with a co-worker of hers when she matched with Alejandra on Bumble!! And now the story truly starts to get interesting… Britt was immediately drawn to the red lip stick Alejandra was wearing in her Bumble profile picture 😉
Britt is not one to shy away from starting a conversation, so when Alejandra messaged Britt first, she was excited and intrigued!! As anyone would! Alejandra moved to Indiana at the beginning of August of 2019 to continue her PhD at Indiana University-Bloomington. Gooooo Hoosiersss! She decided there was no better way to jump into her new life in Bloomington than to jump on Bumble and swipe to get to know people in the community. When she realized students were still not in session, she changed the settings on her app to include women 24 and older! Immediately after changing her settings, this “gorgeous feminist interested in conspiracy theories” popped up. Hahahaha!! Immediately there was a match. Without hesitation, Alejandra made the first move and sent the first message, something she never did… It worked in their favor after all!
A super sweet picnic was planned at Oliver winery for the 4th of July because Alejandra’s roommate (Tiffany) was partner was visiting town! They wanted to do something fun! OF COURSE! Well, Tiff asks Alejandra if she wanted to get her nails done that morning…. and the suspicious thoughts start hahaha. While they were getting their nails done, they got a text that there was a flood at Britt’s work and they were calling back all staff… plans = ruined! Alejandra told Tiff that she “didn’t even feel like going to the winery anymore” and that “she should just go alone with her partner”. Well, Tiff would not accept that as an answer! HA! We love a good winghuman. Well, they finally got to the winery and were immediately directed them to a tasting room. “We picked our glasses of wine and walked out, and there was Britt, standing with a bouquet of my favorite flowers, sunflowers. As I walked towards her, she said hello nervously, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry her.” And here we are.
